I found a small stick that was pretty gnarly and brought it back to my workshop. Later, I sliced it into about half inch pieces and arranged them in multiple ways until I found a layout that was appealing. The result was pretty neat; I tried to create a mirror image effect by flipping similar pieces and a affixing them opposite each other.
